We Love Lorts

Lorts has a blog that features Fresh {off the line} Friday. Each Friday Lorts brings to our attention items that have passed through the factory recently and captured their attention. Here is beautiful example of their Pure Technique, specified in a custom Sherwin Williams paint color and applied to their classic 9620 Chest.

Next, Lorts  has a brilliant example of ther newest leafing option-copper leafing.  When specified on a piece with as much detailing as the 9689 Chest, it really brings out the dimension and texture of the carvings.

Finally, look at this Mantel cabinet,  The ways it can be fisnished are only limited by your imagination.

Have You Looked At The Lorts Blog?

One of our vendors is Lorts which we have posted about before. We just noticed that they have a very nice Friday feature on their blog, Fresh {off the line} Friday. Each Friday they post pictures of pieces that captured their attention showing off the creativity of interior designers "...proving that they work with some of the most talented designers around."

BTW, see what Evelyn Green did with Lorts and a client's home in Arizona.

Lorts Signs Christy Dillard For Furniture Collection

Lorts Manufacturing, an upscale wood furniture manufacturer known for its customized finishes, announced today that it has entered into an agreement with acclaimed Atlanta Interior Designer Christy Dillard. Dillard will work with Lorts to develop a furniture collection to be released in early 2011.

The Christy Dillard collection will build on the strengths of the Lorts brand and incorporate signatures of her style: classic silhouettes with unexpected detailing, bold color and styling selections, and an energized, contemporary perspective. Says Dillard, “I am very excited about this new venture and partnership with Lorts. I am so happy to be associated with a company that makes quality products. Lorts being in business for 45 years says a great deal to me...tried and true.”

“My design aesthetic pulls from many influences, ranging from traditional to contemporary, and I will be bringing that to Lorts with this new collection,” she continues. “A mixture of materials is used to bring a unique flair to collection...appealing to many different clients. The look is fresh but will have a timeless quality that I like to use for all projects.”

“We are eager to have Christy bring her fresh point of view and distinctive aesthetic to the marketplace through a new and proprietary collection of furniture for Lorts,” said Ty Lorts, President of Lorts Manufacturing. “We are confident that a recognized and successful Interior Designer like Christy will be an inspiration to designers that love our line, and that the collaboration will complement and add depth to Lorts’ strong existing line.”

We had a great time at Market in Las Vegas and have come home exhausted, but excited by some new purchases for the showroom.  We spent considerable time in the Lorts showroom where Jessica Youde gave us a tour of the showroom showing us new products and new finishes.

Here are some closeups of three pieces in the video which can be ordered through Landfair Furniture + Design Gallery:

New Lorts Pieces Introduced At High Point

Lorts introduces new case pieces at High Point that were an expansion of their existing transitional line that has been growing in popularity since it was originally introduced. Designers have been requesting more pieces that have clean lines, so these were developed in response to those requests. These transitional pieces can move from more contemporary to a classic styling depending on how pieces are specified to be distressed, finished, and waxed.

The Transitional Trestle Dining Table Top (#2103) and Base (2104) is shown in a new finish that has debuted at this Market—Portobello. Portobello has a metallic silver undertone and is a medium to light finish, which includes terra cotta water spotting to give a weathered, organic feel. It has been extremely well received.

The Transitional Table Base that Lorts introduced (2106) can be used with their existing round table tops, but is shown in photography with their new Transitional Square-to-Round table top (2105). It is also shown in the new Portobello finish.

The Transitional Television Cabinet that they introduced is both transitional in style and also a smaller scale than their existing TV Cabinet. It is shown in the Graystone finish.

In addition, this Market is the first time that Lorts has shown the transitional take on one of their best-selling pieces—the 48” cocktail ottoman.

The two upholstery pieces included are for the To The Trade Line Jordan Spencer by Lorts that was introduced at Las Vegas Market. The 821 sofa is shown in bleached canvas with a bench seat and nailhead detailing, with wood finished in Fruitwood.

The 995 Chair is shown in Tufted Navy Leather, in the Old World finish.

Landfair Furniture + Design Gallery is proud to carry the Lorts products for our clients.
